What our clients say
“The diagnostic changed how I understood what Oxford was looking for. I had been preparing as if it were a knowledge test. It is not — it is a reasoning test. I received an offer from Balliol for PPE in December.”
“What they did with my personal statement was extraordinary — not making it more impressive, but making it more specifically and recognisably mine. I had a rejection the previous year. This year, an offer from Exeter for Law.”
“My daughter went to a state school in Birmingham. They gave her the contextual preparation she needed without ever making her feel she was catching up. She read Chemistry at Keble.”
What is the Oxford acceptance rate, and how do you compare?+
Oxford's overall acceptance rate is approximately 17%. 67% of clients who completed a full programme with The Oxford Tutors received an offer. This figure covers all cycles since 2017 and all subjects.
When should we start preparation?+
Ideally 12–18 months before application — the start of Year 12. This allows time for subject deepening, personal statement development, and multiple rounds of mock interviews. That said, we regularly work with candidates who begin in September and still achieve excellent outcomes.
Do I need this if my school has an Oxbridge programme?+
School programmes are valuable but necessarily generalised. They cannot provide subject-specialist tutors for every course, individual diagnostic assessment, or the depth of mock interview preparation we offer.
How are tutors selected?+
Every tutor holds a first-class degree from Oxford in the relevant subject and completes a structured selection process including supervised teaching sessions. We do not use any tutor who has not been through this process.
Do you work with international students?+
Yes. We have worked with candidates from 34 countries. International preparation includes qualification equivalency, English language requirements, and the specific contextual challenges international applicants face.
